These envelopes are security-tinted for confidentiality. The interior carries a printed pattern that breaks up whatever sits behind it, so the contents cannot be read by holding the envelope up to a light.
That matters more with checks than with almost anything else you mail. A check carries your routing number, account number, signature and payment amount on a single sheet. An untinted envelope makes all of it legible to anyone who picks up the mail between your desk and the recipient.
The tinting does not slow anything down or change how the envelope handles. It simply removes a risk that costs nothing to remove, which is why security tinting has become standard for check mailing rather than an upgrade.
A double window envelope has two openings. The upper window shows your return address as printed on the check. The lower window shows the payee name and address.
Both come from the check itself, which means you address nothing by hand. Fold the check, insert it, and the details position themselves. No labels, no handwriting, no transcription errors between your accounting software and the envelope.
That last point is the practical benefit. Address errors are the most common reason a payment goes astray, and they almost always happen at the moment somebody copies an address from one place to another. A window envelope removes that step entirely.
Guaranteed to Match Our Checks
These envelopes are sized so our checks fold into them with the windows landing where they should. No refolding, no adjusting, no checks that sit a few millimetres off and hide half the address.
That sounds minor until you are stuffing two hundred envelopes and every one needs a second look. Ordering envelopes alongside your checks removes the guesswork, which is why we guarantee the match rather than leaving you to measure.
They work with our printed check formats including computer checks, QuickBooks checks, Xero checks and blank check stock, as well as our handwritten manual business checks.
Five quantities are available, and envelopes reward buying in volume more sharply than checks do.
500 envelopes. $36.75, around $0.07 each.
1,000 envelopes. $69.75, around $0.07 each.
2,500 envelopes. $129.75, around $0.05 each.
5,000 envelopes. $219.00, around $0.04 each.
10,000 envelopes. $419.75, around $0.04 each.
Moving from 500 to 5,000 cuts your per envelope cost roughly in half. No code or promotion is needed, since the saving is built into the quantity you select.
Envelopes are worth stocking deeper than checks. They do not carry your bank details, so they never become obsolete if you change accounts, and they store flat in very little space. Needing a larger volume than listed? Use the Get a Quote option and we will price it for you.
These envelopes use a standard moistenable seal. If you would rather not lick or sponge every envelope, we also carry double window peel and seal envelopes, which close under finger pressure alone.
The choice comes down to volume and preference. Standard gum costs less per envelope and is entirely adequate for a handful of payments. Peel and seal earns its keep once you are sealing dozens in a sitting, or if envelopes are being prepared somewhere without easy access to water.
Adding envelopes to a check order keeps everything on one order and one arrival, which is simpler than tracking two.
There is also an Additional Comments field at checkout if your order has particular requirements worth flagging to us before we pick it.
Mailing payments regularly? An endorsement stamp speeds up the deposit side of the same workflow, and a check book binder keeps handwritten check pages ordered if you work from a book rather than a printer.
If you are setting up check payments from scratch, choose the checks first and the envelopes will follow, since these are sized to match whatever you order.
Printing from accounting software? Start at computer checks, or computer checks on top if you already know your software uses the top position. Writing by hand? See manual business checks.
Need checks on a personal account rather than a business one? See personal checks. To compare every format we carry, start at business checks.
We have printed business checks since 1997. That is nearly three decades of doing one thing rather than maintaining a broad catalog, which is why our envelopes are built to match our checks rather than sourced separately to fill a gap in a range.
Orders are placed online through a secure checkout, which keeps processing quick and accurate. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal. Sales tax applies only to orders within New York State, and businesses holding an exemption can email the form after checkout.
