This format prints three checks to a page instead of one. You will also see it called 3 to a page, 3 per page, three on a page or 3 part checks. All describe the same layout.
It is ideal for managing accounts payable more efficiently. Because there are no stubs, you get more checks per page and a noticeably lower cost per check, which suits businesses where the payment detail already lives inside QuickBooks rather than needing to be printed alongside.
Your bank details and MICR line arrive pre-printed. QuickBooks places the payee, date and amount. Available in various colors and styles.
Do You Need Stubs?
This is the decision that matters most between formats.
Three on a page has no stubs, which is exactly why it costs less per check. If your suppliers do not expect remittance detail attached, and your reconciliation happens inside QuickBooks, the stub is duplication you are paying for.
If you do need that paper record, QuickBooks checks on top place the check body at the top with two stubs beneath for invoice references and a file copy. It costs more per check but carries the detail with the payment.
QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
These checks work with both. Select the matching check style in your QuickBooks print settings so the three positions on the sheet line up correctly.
You do not need to buy checks from your software provider. Any check formatted to the correct style and dimensions prints from QuickBooks and clears at your bank in exactly the same way.
Getting the Alignment Right
QuickBooks includes an alignment tool in its print setup. Run a sample on plain paper, hold it against a real check to compare position, then adjust the vertical and horizontal offsets. Save the setting once and it holds for future runs.
Three checks per sheet makes alignment slightly more sensitive than single check formats, since an offset that looks minor at the top compounds by the third check. Confirm your printer is set to actual size rather than scaling the page, and always test on plain paper before using real stock.
Three quantities are available, and this format is where volume pricing pays off hardest.
100 checks. Around $0.75 per check.
300 checks. Around $0.31 per check, our best value option.
600 checks. Around $0.23 per check.
Stepping from 100 to 300 cuts your per check cost by well over half. Going to 600 reduces it further still. No code or promotion is needed, since the saving is built into the quantity you select.
You can also add additional checks to an order to increase the saving further. Current pricing appears on this page as you select a quantity.
Every check we print includes security features as standard. You can also upgrade to More Security paper during ordering if your payments warrant it.
Worth considering if you write higher value checks or have had a fraud incident before. The upgrade sits at the same step as your quantity selection, so you can weigh the cost difference before committing.
Twenty color options are available, including Mazed and Art Deco. You select your color during ordering and see a layout preview before anything goes to production.
That preview is exactly what it says. Before printing, our team finalizes the alignment and removes the white background, so the finished check is properly set up rather than printed straight from the on screen version. Alignment is handled by people who print checks every day rather than left to you.
Adding your company logo is free. Email your artwork to sales@checksnextday.com with your order number in the subject line. Black artwork on a white background in BMP or JPG format reproduces most cleanly.
These checks run through any inkjet or laser printer. No MICR toner, no dedicated check printer, no special cartridges required.
Because your bank details and MICR line arrive pre-printed, your printer handles only the variable payment information. MICR toner is needed only if you print bank details yourself, which is what 3 per page blank check stock is designed for.
Two other QuickBooks formats are available depending on how you work. QuickBooks checks on top include two stubs for remittance detail. QuickBooks personal checks use a tri-fold wallet format for individual financial management. Browse everything at QuickBooks checks.
Printing from different software? The same three per page layout is available as computer checks 3 on a page for general accounting programs, or 3 on a page Xero checks for that platform. Browse the wider range at computer checks.
Writing checks by hand instead? Accounts payable manual checks use the same three to a page layout in a binder, with no printer or software needed. See all handwritten options at manual business checks, or compare every format at business checks.
Four details complete the order: your bank routing number, your account number, your starting check number, and your business name and address as it should print. All four appear on an existing check drawn on the same account.
Routing and account numbers. Both sit along the bottom edge of any current check, inside the MICR line.
Starting check number. Continue your existing sequence so QuickBooks does not flag duplicates during reconciliation.
Business name and address exactly as it should appear on the face of the check.
Working with paper payments regularly? Pair your order with double window envelopes, sized so the payee and address show through correctly without refolding. An endorsement stamp speeds up the back of the check when depositing.
We have printed business checks since 1997. That is nearly three decades of doing one thing rather than maintaining a broad catalog, and it shows in how the checks are produced. Alignment is finalized by our team before printing, security features are standard on every check, and logo setup is included at no charge.
Orders are placed online through a secure checkout, which keeps processing quick and accurate. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal. Sales tax applies only to orders within New York State, and businesses holding an exemption can email the form after checkout. Customer reviews from verified buyers appear further down this page.
